I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

What do you do when a plumbing emergency arises? The very first thing is to ensure it's safe, and hopefully not getting even worse. Electricity and water do not combine safely, so if you need to, turn the mains switch off at the power panel.

If water is still leaking, turn off the water at the nearest location or at the mains valve outside. If you can’t find the main shutoff valve or a tap to the fixture, then turn on all the cold taps inside and out to depressurise the system and reduce the leak.

Now give our on call plumbers a ring, any time of the day or night. We will be at your home as soon as possible to resolve the problem.

While you wait for our plumber to arrive, start cleaning up any water, place a bucket to catch any drips, and remove important possessions from the area. If the mains water is turned off, also switch off the heating for the hot water.
